Windows Mobile 6.1 Release on April 1st? We've known WinMo 6.1 in the last post (Windows Mobile 6.1 Features + Screenshots). And Recently According to sources close to Microsoft, the official Windows Mobile 6.1 launch is set to happen at the same time with the April Fools' day. However, you should know April 1st is also meaningful in other sense as the first day of CTIA Wireless, so this may happen after all. Windows Mobile 6.1 update is pretty much designed as a temporary solution before Windows Mobile 7 is officially rolled out.
Leaked screenshots of WinMo 6.1 have already done the rounds in the blogosphere, and show the system has been simplified with the screens displaying less mess than the Vista-inspired version 6.
In the meantime, Windows Mobile version 6.1 will have a new look with new fonts, new homescreen and new features such as a task manager and copying and pasting in Internet Explorer all bode well for users of Microsoft's OS for handhelds.
