T-Mobile G1 finally official, Specs + Details. The world's first Android-powered HTC Dream in partnership with Google finally gets announced by T-Mobile. T-Mobile G1 combines full touch-screen functionality and a QWERTY keyboard with a mobile web experience that includes Google Maps Street View, Gmail, YouTube and others.
The Google applications on Android take full advantage of the features of the Android platform. Gmail is built on 'embedded WebViews', the real-time push features and synchronization use the multi-tasking capabilities of the platform, and the integration between applications relies on the 'Android Application Framework'. Google Mobile Blog posted a video describing the features in action:
T-Mobile G1 features a 3.2-inch high-resolution HVGA touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixel, 528Mhz processor, WiFi, GPS, HSPA, and more. The Google Phone (gPhone) will be available $179, customers can order online on October 22nd. Three color options are available in the U.S. - white, brown and black. Overall the specs seem good, Unfortunately, another report confirmed that T-Mobile G1 doesn't come with a 3.5mm standard headphone jack, meaning you'll need custom headphones or an adapter to plug in your own.
