Toshiba TG01 smartphone announced with Snapdragon QSD2850 chipset. A new Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone has recently been announced by Toshiba, it's TG01. With a Qualcomm’s 1Ghz Snapdragon QSD2850 chipset, the mobile phone can be a good competitor to iPhone 3G or HTC Touch HD.
It has Toshiba’s own 3D user interface, and features a 4.1-inch WVGA 800 x 480 384k pixel resistive touchscreen. With a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio, 3G (HSPA) data connectivity, WiFi, microSDHC card slot (up to 32GB), GPS and A-GPS, it's a powerful smartphone at this moment. The TG01 has an 8-percent larger display than the Touch HD and 21-percent slimmer. The screen also has many of Toshiba’s HDTV technologies, including color matching, dynamic gamma correction and LCD backlight control.
Toshiba TG01 is expected to be available in Europe sometime this Summer. No word on carriers nor price yet. We’ll be looking forward to the Toshiba TG01 smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Stay tuned.
