Thanks to YoDude from HowardForums, Nokia N900 users can try the following solution to enjoy the GPS satellite with Google map on their handsets.
Go on reading if you really have N900 gps problems, are stuck with the N900 gps settings, and need to activate GPS on your N900.
How to get you Google Maps on the N900 with GPS
0. Download and install Geolocation extension by Oleg Romashin, so that the Maemo browser can recognize Nokia N900’s integrated GPS.
1. Visit http://www.google.com/maps/m on your N900 to enjoy Google Maps
You may notice that a usable Zoom feature is missing, Fortunately, Yodude adds Zoom Controls using some html:
2. Download Gmaps.htm and zoom.htm and unzip in the same directory on your N900. (both the files and instructions are included in the attached zip file).
3. Enjoy the + – zoom controls on the right.

hi, i followed the steps and it did work and its quiet accurate :)
but for some reason,after i got google maps to work and after i rebooted it ,my n900 wouldnt connect to internet,thru connectWap nor Wireless. Im nt sure if there r certain settings to be changed ( which i doubt that needs to be done ) or the geolocation ext caused it to happen.
Has this happened to any1 else ? Or do you have any solutions for this ?
is there a way to drag the map going to the left or right to see the extension of the vicinity? please help. thanks. happy new year 2011!
