New Panasonic Li-ion batteries boast 30% longer battery life

Panasonic has increased the capacity of Li-ion batteries by 30 percent. The batteries use a silicon alloy anode, and are expected to hit the market in 2012. The battery cells (18650 size) offer a high 4.0Ah capacity. The largest capacity of any cell of that size available now is only 3.1Ah, so Panasonic has yielded an extra 30% capacity.
