Samsung Focus smartphone is also known as Samsung SGH-i917, also previously rumored as Samsung i917 Cetus for AT&T. Samsung Focus was released on November 8, 2010, along with the HTC Surround on AT&T. Samsung Focus specs may remind you of Samsung Omnia 7, coming with a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution, 5-megapixel camera, and 8GB of storage. If the Samsung Omnia 7 phone does not contain a microSD slot for extra storage, Samsung Focus is otherwise.
The device was marketed by Samsung as being the only Windows Phone to feature a microSD card slot, but many users found that installation can be tricky. The SD card used in the Focus must meet certain performance requirements, such as random read and write speeds, which cannot be determined with the speed class alone. AT&T has informed customers to buy a "Samsung Focus approved" microSD card in order to use the slot. When inserting a new SD card into the Samsung Focus, the Windows Phone must be reformatted and reset to factory settings. After inserting an SD card, user cannot remove it as usual. Because of the integration of the card with the phone's memory; doing so will completely erase data on the smartphone along with the card. The table below provides more detailed information on the Samsung Focus specifications.
