Soundbuzz, Asian Digital Music Store is now acquired by Motorola, enabling the handset maker to expand its MOTOMUSIC service beyond China into the India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand markets. Digital music store Soundbuzz is quite popular in Asia. Its region-independent platform enables users to buy digital content through both wireless and wired internet connections.
Motorola said it would use Soundbuzz to expland its MOTOMUSIC service into India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Soundbuzz has partnerships with Sony BMG, EMI, Warner Music International and Universal Music Group, as well as over 45 independent record labels all over the world, and has one of the largest music libraries in the world.
Soundbuzz is one of the leading pan-Asian music provider, which currently has 750,000+ track strong song database and partnership agreements with Hutchison 3, Motorola, Airtel, SingTel, M1, Optus Zoo, Telstra, BigPond Music, Windows Media Player 10, Creative Technology and SONY BMG. Motorola’s acquisition is another step towards expanding their MOTOMUSIC brand into Asian market.

Soundbuzz offers online music purchases throughout the South East Asia and Oceania region and currently has partnerships with Hutchison 3, Motorola, Airtel, SingTel, M1, Optus Zoo, Telstra/ BigPond Music, Microsoft (Windows Media Player 10), Creative Technology and Sony BMG. Downloads from the Soundbuzz retail store sell in Australia for $1.69 AUD ($1.47) per single. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, and the deal should be finalized somewhere in the first quarter of 2008.
