Google Mobile Blog told owners of Windows Mobile 6 touchscreen devices that they can now enjoy a much faster and slicker way of browsing Picasa Web Albums on their smartphones. Back in December 2007, we saw Google releasing the iPhone-optimized version of its Picasa Web Albums service. Then it's time for WinMo 6 smartphones to be supported.

The official blog said that only Windows Mobile 6 handsets with touchscreen are supported, but it seems, soon other users with the non-touchscreen (Standard Edition) devices will be able to use the service as well.

Picasa Web Albums works with recently announced Google Gears for Mobile, giving you an option to view selected albums even there is no internet connection available (offline). In addition, Google Gears also lets you add a Picasa icon to your Program Files folder so you can access your photos even faster.
