NEC, Hitachi, and Casio to merge their handset divisions?

The Japanese media are reporting that three companies (NEC, Hitachi Ltd., and Casio Computer) are in talks to merge their mobile phone operations as early as April 2010. The merger would give them 20% of the Japanese domestic market.
