Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 launched by a2network in Japan

Novatel Wireless has announced that a2network Corporation, a leading Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) for DoCoMo in Japan, is launching the Novatel Wireless' MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.

The MiFi 2372 platform supports 800MHz, 1900MHz, and 2100MHz bands for local service in Japan, as well as for global roaming. It also includes a microSD slot for expandable memory that can be accessed and shared over the Wi-Fi link with up to five simultaneous users, located within 10 meters of the unit. For its innovative design and engineering, the MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot was named the "Best of Innovations" award winner in the "Enabling Technologies" category at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2010 in Las Vegas, among the many other awards garnered since its launch.

The MiFi 2372 device will be available through a2network Corporation at the end of April 2010.
