Skype for Android available for download

Skype is now available for Android mobile phones. With the new app, you can make free Skype-to-Skype calls, and send and receive IMs for free, one-to-one or with a group. You can also call phones at Skype’s great rates – over WiFi or 3G.

Skype is not available in the Android Market in China or Japan. According to th developer, there are still some problems with the Samsung Galaxy S, and they’re looking to address these in the future.

You can download Skype from the Android Market, or from skype.com/m on your phone. You’ll need Android OS 2.1 or later – check Settings > About if you’re not sure what version your phone is running.
