Sometimes you've heard that your Android phone getting a new firmware upgrade / update, so you check the system settings on your Android phone, but unfortunately it isn’t working. Well you can try to force your Android phone to check for updates using your dialer. From your Android phone’s dialer simply dial *#*#2432546#*#* (or *#*#checkin#*#* substituting the letters for numbers). Then you should get a notification saying, “Checkin succeeded”. Just go into Settings > About Phone > System Update.
If there’s a new firmware update for your Android handset from your carrier, it’ll pop up then, but it usually doesn't so don’t expect it to succeed every time. In case there's no firmware upgrade available for your Android device, then this trick won't work, of course. If you've had success with this trick, let us know about them in the comments.
