Samsung showcases Super PLS displays

Samsung Mobile Display is showing off its next generation LCD-TFT Display for smartphones. The Super PLS (Plane to Lane Switching) Display is supposed to support a resolution up to WXGA.

The Samsung Super PLS screens are claimed to offer 10 times the viewing angles of IPS displays and to have an improvement of about 100 percent in viewing angle. The company is targeting these displays for smartphones and tablets. SMD will start with the mass production in Q1 2011.
