BBM ( BlackBerry Messenger ) for iPhone and Android?

According to the recent report from BGR, RIM will probably bring its BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) application and service to Android, and eventually to iOS (iPhone/iPad) as well. RIM had recently sued Kik Messenger, which was offering a kind of cross-platform BBM experiences based on a concept RIM invented, so they say, RIM apparently wants to own the space. The BlackBerry Messenger on Android and iOS will apparently offer stripped down versions of the BBM experience that lets users communicate with practically other smartphone users using BBM, but they might not enjoy the full BlackBerry Messenger experience such as sharing photos, location, or videos.
