Nokia has officially announced the Nokia X1-00 which is touted as the music lover’s phone. The budget-friendly music-oriented cell phone is focused on the new speaker and sound distortion. The massive speaker on the back is rated at 106phon (a phon is a measure of perceived loudness – 106 of them is enough to rattle your window frames, apparently). The frequency response has been tweaked somewhat, though, so that the sound remains undistorted at higher volumes, unlike most mobile phones. Nokia X1-00 also comes with great standby battery life that is rated at a whopping 61 days max.
Nokia X1-00 specs include Symbian Series 30 UI, music player, dedicated music keys, FM radio, calendar, clock and calculator, pre-loaded games, built-in flashlight, GSM / EDGE connectivity, MicroSD card support (up to 16GB), and 3.5mm headset jack. It measures 112.2 x 47.3 x 16mm and weighs 91g.
Nokia X1-00 will be available in three color versions: Orange, Ocean blue, and Dark grey. It is scheduled to be available in selected markets beginning in April with a price tag of 34 EUR before taxes and operator subsidies.
