Google Sync for iPhone, iPad : 3 new updates released
Three new updates have been added to Google Sync for iPhone and iPad. The new features for Google Sync users will help employees work efficiently from anywhere on their Apple's shiny gadgets. As you may already know, the Google Sync keeps your phone’s native mail and calendar apps in sync with your Gmail, Calendar and Contacts. First of the 3 new updates to Google Sync for iOS will allow you to search all your emails in Gmail, not just the emails stored locally by the iOS mail app. Second, you're also able to accept, decline or edit calendar events from the iOS calendar application.

Last but not least, It's now easy to send email from the address you want. If you're one of those who manage multiple email addresses from a single Gmail account. You should be familiar with the Gmail’s “Send Mail as” feature that lets you send messages with another email address listed as the sender instead of your Gmail address, e.g. joe@altostrat.com instead of joe@gmail.com. Now the iOS mail app will respect these settings. Those 3 updates are already available to both Gmail and Google Apps email accounts.

Just in case any of you are still having trouble with setting up Google Sync with your iOS device. You can follow several steps on the official page to setup Google Sync on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
