Lenovo intros IdeaPad A1 Android tablet to go against Samsung Galaxy Tab. Unlike the previously released Lenovo Honeycomb tablets - the IdeaPad K1 and the ThinkPad Tablet, the IdeaPad A1 runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which makes the device has a lower price point. FYI, the recently unveiled Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS.
Lenovo IdeaPad A1 tablet boasts a 7-inch 1024×600 pixels touchscreen display, a 1GHz single-core ARM Cortex A8 CPU, 3MP rear camera along with front-facing VGA camera for video calls, WiFi, GPS, microSD card support. As for the size, it is 0.4-inch thick and weighs 400 grams.
7-inch Lenovo IdeaPad A1 Android tablet costs $199 for the 8GB version. The 16 and 32 GB versions are expected to be available in the U.S. with price tags of $249 and $299.
