Following previous report that Android Ice Cream Sandwich will be available sometime in late October or early November, a new report suggests what the next version of Android after Ice Cream Sandwich will be named. The speculation is based on Google's longstanding tradition of naming Android builds after sweet treats in alphabetical order, suggesting that the "J" could be "Jelly Bean".
As you may well be aware already, the Android naming scheme is set in alphabetical order; Android 1.5 "C" - Cupcake, Android 1.6 "D" - Donut, Android 2.1 "E" - Eclair, Android 2.2 "F" - Froyo, Android 2.3 "G" - Gingerbread, Android 3.0 "H" - Honeycomb, and the latest "I" for "Ice Cream Sandwich" (rumored to debut on the upcoming Nexus Prime from Samsung).
