Firmware update for Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone

Nokia has released a new firmware update for the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone. The second software update for the Nokia Lumia smartphone will bring the software on your phone to version 1600.2483.8106.11500. It now comes with two enhancements, for battery performance and Wi-Fi connectivity.

According to the official blog, Nokia said that the latest software update will not be delivered to every Lumia 800 simultaneously, but rather will be staggered over the next two weeks through Microsoft’s standard update process. Your Nokia Lumia smartphone will automatically check for updates from time to time, and you’ll get a message on the Windows phone when it is ready.

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone owners can download the new firmware update using the Microsoft Zune software (or Windows Phone 7 Connector if you have a Mac). Attach your Windows phone to your computer using the USB cable. In Zune, from the Applications section, go to phone settings->Phone update to install the new software. On a Mac, click on the device name in the left-hand pane and then on ‘Install update’. As always, if you do install, be sure to backup your smartphone and take all necessary precautions before you start.
