Kika Tech, the company behind the popular Kika Keyboard, has released an update for its keyboard app with native support for WhatsApp's latest emoji update. Kika Keyboard is the first Android keyboard to implement this new emojis, natively.
The updated emoji, which helped increase the racial and sexual diversity of the standard emoji suite, were previously only available to WhatsApp users through the messenger's built in "Emoji Button." Kika's latest plug-in will load WhatsApp's emojis automatically into the keyboard, so users can input their messages without having to switch functions.
Kika Tech's CEO, Bill Hu, commented on the latest update, "Kika has always been about helping people communicate their ideas in a way that best represents themselves. When we learned what WhatsApp's latest update provided, it was only natural for us to prioritize getting this functionality out to our users."
Users interested in getting access to these new emoji should load the "EmojiOne" keyboard plug-in located in the settings of the Kika Keyboard app.
