LITTLE ELM, Texas -- Little Elm ISD (LEISD) has added a new communications tool and mobile application system called Anonymous Alerts®. Students can now quickly, easily, and anonymously report urgent or sensitive information to authorized school officials. The system encourages students, parents and staff to confidentially report bullying, cyberbullying, depression, drug and alcohol issues, depression, dating violence, and other sensitive topics by sending anonymous 2-way communications using the Anonymous Alerts® app. LEISD is one of the fastest growing districts in the state of Texas with over 7,155 students located in the Dallas, Fort Worth area.
"We're pleased to launch Anonymous Alerts. Our aim is to create a learning environment that is respectful and safe through positive and pro-active academic and extracurricular programs," said Lowell Strike, Ph.D., Superintendent of Schools. "Anonymous Alerts will help our students report concerns quickly, helping our administrators address their concerns in a timely manner."
Anyone wishing to submit information anonymously can visit Little Elm ISD's website at www.littleelmisd.net, then click on the Anonymous Alerts button to send a report. The Anonymous Alerts® app can be downloaded directly from the Apple App Store, Google Play store for Android and the Chrome store app from the Google Chrome store. Students are supplied a simple login and password from the District to activate the mobile apps. Informational posters explaining the apps and logins will be displayed throughout the District. All reports remain completely anonymous, although submitters have the option to reveal their identity if they prefer. The system will be monitored during school days between the hours of 7 am to 5 pm.
"We're very excited to partner with Little Elm ISD! 70% of incidents go undetected without the ability for students to come forward and anonymously report sensitive issues," said Gregory Bender, President & CEO of Anonymous Alerts®.
