ZTE is delighted to have the opportunity to engage with the region’s top innovators and experts at the Wireless Broadband Forum.”
With the launch of the M-ICT (Mobile-ICT) strategy in 2014, ZTE is integrating its world-class capabilities in telecommunications networks, mobile devices and enterprise computing to drive innovations to help customers navigate the transition to a world of seamless connections between people, businesses and objects.
ZTE, the world’s fastest-growing provider of 4G LTE network solutions, is leading industry efforts on research of 5G and other next-generation network technologies. The company has announced partnerships with carriers including China Mobile, SoftBank, KT and U Mobile on ZTE’s proprietary pre5G network solutions, which enable customers to emulate future 5G network characteristics and performance on existing 4G infrastructure.
In 2014, ZTE posted 100% growth in shipments of 4G LTE base stations, and the company accounted for 25% of new 4G LTE base station deployments globally.
ZTE will also focus on innovations in SDN and NFV (network function virtualization) to help operators migrate to more scalable and flexible network infrastructures in anticipation of growing user demand. ZTE’s industry-leading ElasticNet SDN IPRAN (internet protocol radio access network) solution helps customers virtualize massive access-layer equipment, to simplify network operations and maintenance.
By the end of the second quarter, ZTE has signed 185 commercial contracts for 4G LTE and EPC (evolved packet core) globally, providing high-quality 4G equipment and services for world-leading telecommunications operators. ZTE has successfully launched commercial LTE networks for major international operators, including Bharti Airtel, China Mobile, China Telecom, Digi, Hutchison, SoftBank, Telenor, TeliaSonera, Vodafone, VimpelCom, MTN and Telefonica and U Mobile.
ZTE increased its market share in the global optical network products market to 14% in the second quarter of 2015, from 12% a year earlier, according to data from Ovum. ZTE achieved growth in annualized sales of WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing)/CPO-T (Converged Packet Optical-Transport) in each of the past 11 quarters, according to Ovum.
