Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 announced

First Android phone from Sony Ericsson, XPERIA X10 has been announced along with its UX open platform. The UX (user experience) platform builds on top of the Open OS and creates a unique Sony Ericsson user experience by combining best-in-class entertainment features with signature applications, unrivalled integration of social media services and a rich graphical user interface. There are signature applications like Mediascape and Timescape which allow users to manage their social networking activities (Timescape), and browse all the media, both on the phone and on the Internet (Mediascape).

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is the first mobile phone to truly humanise the way people interact with their phones. The X10 comes with great specifications: quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity – 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, plus tri/quad-band HSPA 900/1700/2100 or 800/850/1900/2100 MHz, a 4-inch WVGA (480×854 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 CPU, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 8.1 megapixel auto-focus camera with an array of camera technologies including touch focus, face recognition, smile detection, image and video stabilizer, geo-tagging, 3.5mm audio jack. Coming with Google apps pre-loaded, Android 1.6 Donut (probably upgradable to 2.0 Eclair), it has 1GB of internal memory, plus a microSD memory card slot (8GB card should come in box).

Size wise, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 measures 119×63x13 mm and has a weight of 135 grams. The device will be launched in the first half of 2010, available in Sensuous Black and Luster White.

LG SB210 touchscreen handset for Korean golfers

A new golf-friendly touchphone by LG has been launched in Korea. Called LG SB210, the mobile phone comes pre-loaded with maps for 280 golf courses, golf-related services, including the so called “Receive PJT” application.

LG SB210 features a 3-inch 240×400 pixels display, 3 megapixel camera, accelerometer, compass, GPS, and a microSD memory card slot. Size wise, it measures 111×55x12.3 mm and has a weight of 106 grams.

The LG SB210 touchscreen phone will be available this month via SK Telecom for 638,000 KRW (about $539).

Parkmobile announces Pay by Phone Parking in Grand Rapids

Parkmobile North America has announced a revolutionary new service that will allow residents and visitors in Grand Rapids to use their mobile phone to pay for parking. C&C: Red Alert for iPhone Now Available

RA-fans, Command & Conquer: Red Alert for iPhone is now available in the AppStore. The real-time strategy game comes with a touchscreen interface that lets you play as either Allies or Soviets across 12 combat levels of military conquest, unit building, resource gathering, and a variety of different environmental conditions in which to do battle.

Samsung Moment and Sanyo SCP-3810 available at Sprint

Sprint has added two new phones, Samsung Moment and Sanyo SCP-3810. Samsung Moment is an Android-powered smartphone coming with a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED touchscreen, 800MHz CPU, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with flash. The device is available for $179.99 with a contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.

Sanyo SCP-3810 is a low-end clamshell featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, GPS, Bluetooth, and web browser. The handset is available in two colors – Regal Red and Black Onyx for free with a contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

O2 Germany will launch the GSM version of the Motorola Droid/Sholes as the Motorola MILESTONE. An official O2 device price list shows the MILESTONE coming in at 404.20 EUR ($595 USD) before taxes (and subsidies).

Wolfenstein3D for iPhone gets a Platinum update

Good news for FPS game-fans, An updated version of the classic edition of Wolfenstein 3D for iPhone has been released. Wolfenstein3D Platinum for the iPhone and iPod Touch allows users to download custom made maps directly to their device. There're now the Spear of Destiny levels - containing 21 new maps, as well as five new bosses, a new enemy type - Ghosts. The iPhone game is now available on the iTunes App Store.
