Twitter 360 brings Augmented Reality to the iPhone 3GS

A new application called Twitter 360 has been announced for the iPhone 3GS. Twitter 360 is a new application specifically developed for the iPhone 3GS that enables you to visualize your Twitter friends located in your nearby environment, thanks to a unique Augmented Reality functionality using the iPhone camera. Twitter 360 is one of the first iPhone applications to use the new Twitter’s Geotagging feature to geotag your tweets. Twitter 360 lets you track geographic movements of your friends, you can now see where are located your nearby friends via Augmented Reality.

Qt 4.6 released by Nokia - Now developers easier to create apps forSymbian, Maemo, and other platforms

Nokia has released Qt 4.6, the latest version of the cross-platform application and UI framework. Featuring new platform support, powerful new graphical capabilities and support for multi-touch and gestures, Qt 4.6 makes developing advanced applications and devices easier and more enjoyable. Qt support for Symbian and Maemo creates the first opportunity for developers to target both of these platforms from the same codebase. Being able to share code across platforms means that the applications they create will reach the market faster and reach a broader audience of device users.

Bell Samsung Galaxy Android phone on Dec 10th

The Android-powered Samsung Galaxy is rumored to hit Bell on Thursday, December 10th. The Galaxy by Samsung will come with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, Android 1.5 OS, a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, 8GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB with microSD), WiFi, GPS. Nokia 5132 XpressMusic for China Mobile

Nokia will be shipping its 5132 XpressMusic to China Mobile. The 5132 has a similar appearance to the 5130 XpressMusic. It's a candybar phone for entry-level users, which comes with a 2 megapixel camera, 2-inch QVGA screen, Bluetooth, advanced music player, and a microSD expansion slot (a 1GB card is included in the box). No word on pricing nor release date yet. Stay tuned.

Dolphin mobile browser for Android adds multi-touch support on Moto Droid

You may already know that the Jet by Samsung features the Dolphin browser. Dolphin web browser has just released a new version 1.2.9 in the Android Market. It now brings Multi touch for Moto Droid! (Now multi touch support Droid, Hero & Cyanogen).

Samsung S7070 Glowing Diva + Samsung S5150 Glam Diva announced

Remember the previous Samsung’s new Diva collection of phones? The two phones — S7070 and S5150 — are now officially announced.

Both fashion phones target female users. It will come with photo retouching and enriching “Beauty” and “Lomo” effects, sensually designed fonts, “Etiquette mode” to instantly silence the phone and security features like “SOS Message” and “Fake call”.

Firmware Update 400.21.013 for Nokia E71

A new firmware upgrade is now available for the popular Nokia Eseries, E71. The new version is 400.21.013 which comes with some improvements. It comes with improved support for Nokia Email/Messaging, The pre-installed version of Ovi Contacts is available in the Installations folder, small updates for several apps: Internet radio, Quickoffice (5.3), Ovi Store, Email Setup Wizard, and Mail for Exchange.

The new version of Ovi Store client is now much faster. The new firmware update also brings improved searching in Contacts, and improvements in WLAN functionality. As usual, it is suggested that you backup all your data before upgrading.

Orange Switzerland + Sunrise to merge Swiss Mobile Phone operations

France Telecom and Denmark’s TDC are set to merge their Swiss mobile networks – Orange Switzerland and Sunrise, respectively - to create a powerful rival to the market leader, Swisscom. France Telecom said it will pay EUR1.5 billion to TDC to become a 75 percent shareholder in the combined entity, while TDC will hold the remaining 25 percent.

An unofficial firmware update for Samsung Jet is floating on the interwebs, claiming to bring overall performance increase. The new version is S8000XEII2 which delivers several improvements. The Dolphin web browser and media browser now work faster. 3D Cube interface has got a new background along with new widgets: Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. Media player supports landscape orientation, and also rocks an improved interface.
