10-inch ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Android 3.0 tablet unveiled

In addition to 7.1-inch ASUS Eee Pad MeMO tablet, and 10-inch ASUS Eee Pad Slider, ASUS has also announced another Android 3.0 tablet called the 'ASUS Eee Pad Transformer'. With a slim lightweight design and 10.1-inch capacitive touch-screen and Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the Eee Pad Transformer boasts the NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset that provides full support for Adobe Flash, smooth HD video conferencing and playback, a lightning fast web experience and incredible mobile gaming performance. An optional docking station turns the Transformer into a full-fledged notebook with a QWERTY keyboard for desktop use, while extending battery life up to 16 hours. As with the Slider, front (1.2 megapixel) and rear (5 megapixel) digital cameras make for easy video chat and digital photography, while a built-in mini-HDMI port makes for easy connections to external displays showing off full 1080p HD video playback.

Powered with the latest Google’s mobile OS – Android 3.0, the tablet comes with a 7.1-inch capacitive touch-screen (though it's capacitive, there's also a stylus for note-taking), and a Micro HDMI port a Micro HDMI port so that you can connect the device to an external display and will support 1080p HD video playback.

ASUS has announced the Eee Pad Slider at CES. Coming with Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the ASUS Eee Pad Slider features a 10-inch IPS touch-screen for finger-friendly use, and also a slide-out QWERTY keyboard for comfortable, use-anywhere typing. 10 million Samsung Galaxy S phones sold in seven months

Samsung has announced it had sold 10 million of its Android-powered Galaxy S Smartphones. The milestone was reached less than seven months after the device was launched, in June 2010.

Maxthon Android web browser adds multi-platform syncing

Maxthon has announced its second release of Maxthon Mobile. The update provides Maxthon Mobile with two major functions -- the synchronization of cross-platform information, and new finger gestures to let users control their mobile browsing without having to search for tiny buttons. The synchronization feature allows users to manipulate data, such as contacts and favorites, from any Maxthon platform on PC or an Android phone. A user, for example, can use Maxthon on his PC to sort a collection of contacts by phone area code. When he opens the same contacts using Maxthon Mobile on his phone, the contacts will be in the same order as on the computer.

“MSO.PJApps” Android virus identified in China

Mobile security service provider NetQin Mobile ("NetQin") has announced that a new virus on Android devices was identified by the company. The virus, named "MSO.PJApps," causes leakage of private data and subscribes to fee-charging services without user's awareness, causing financial losses to mobile users. NetQin Mobile responded to the security threat within 12 hours of identifying suspicious behavior from the Android virus and updated its virus database to ensure that Android device users get timely protection.
