The Chinese First Mandatory Standard of Lithium-ion Cells and Batteries is Implemented -- NTEK promotes it hand in hand with CQC
The Chinese first mandatory standard, GB 31241-2014 Lithium-ion cells and batteries used in portable electronic equipments -- Safety requirements, was officially implemented on August 1, 2015. From today onwards, lithium-ion cells and batteries contained in mobile power, mobile phones, laptop computers, digital cameras and other portable electronic equipments have to pass a series of complicated and strict tests to ensure that they are safe, and then they can be sold in the market.
Compared with other rechargeable batteries, lithium-ion cells and batteries have advantages of higher voltage, higher energy density, pollution-free, fast charge, low self-discharge rate and so on. They are widely used in mobile power banks, laptop computers, digital cameras and other products closely related to people's lives. Cells and batteries are the key components of all digital devices; they are not only related to the operation duration of equipments, but are also the key elements of the safety of equipments. Poor quality of lithium-ion cells and batteries will cause fire, explosion and other accidents, and also lead to people's property loss; serious accidents can endanger the safety of life.
