Free Mobile Contact Backup for U.S. Cellular smartphones

U.S. Cellular and Asurion Mobile Applications has announced the availability of My Contacts Backup for smartphones. My Contacts Backup has been protecting the valuable contact information of U.S. Cellular customers for more than two years and is offered on more than 75 different phones. U.S. Cellular and Asurion Mobile Applications have also announced a new My Contacts Backup feature that allows users to create and share groups of contacts with other U.S. Cellular customers making U.S. Cellular the first in the industry to have this feature.

CLIQ by Motorola - Android Phone with MOTOBLUR UI

Motorola has unveiled its new Android phone, called Motorola CLIQ. The mobile slider comes with new MOTOBLUR user interface, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Android 1.5 (Cupcake), 5 megapixel camera + AF, 3G, WiFi, a 3.1 inch HVGA screen with 320 x 480 pixels 187 PPI, EDGE Class 12, GPRS Class 12, GPS (with digital compass), 3.5mm headphone jack.

China Mobile supports Symbian Foundation

China Mobile and Symbian Foundation has announced an agreement to collaborate on a series of key initiatives to improve the mobile ecosystem in China and to stimulate the development of the market for CCMC's locally developed 3G network standard, TD-SCDMA. The partnership also marks Symbian's Chinese website launch, broader focus on the Chinese market and China Mobile’s determination to support the Symbian Foundation.

Samsung Think-Pink Star S5230 Edition to fight breast cancer

Samsung has released a limited edition of its Samsung Star S5230 in Belgium. The mobile phone has similar features with the original one such as a 3-inch touchscreen display, TouchWiz UI, EDGE connectivity, 3.2MP camera with face and smile detection, accelerometer, microSD card slot, Gesture lock, Bluetooth and more.

Samsung Star Think-Pink limited edition has been created to support Think-Pink, an organization that spreads awareness against breast cancer. It will be available for €149 from October 1 till the end of December. Every limited edition phone bears a cancer ribbon at the back and for every phone sold, Samsung will donate €10.

Vringo + Marvel to launch Super Hero-Themed Video Ringtones

Vringo and Marvel Entertainment have announced a collaboration to create and distribute mobile videos and video ringtones based on Marvel's legendary library of Super Heroes. The project kicks off with the U.S. launch of a storefront and Web-based editing platform (http://vringo.marvel.com) dedicated to letting fans purchase ready-made mobile clips and even create their own from the Marvel archives.

Verizon Wireless has introduced the HTC Touch Pro2. Nokia 7705 Twist for Verizon introduced

Verizon Wireless and Nokia has introduced the Nokia 7705 Twist. Coming with a unique square shape that swivels open to reveal a full QWERTY keypad, Nokia 7705 Twist features 2.4 inch 262,000 color screen, 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, EVDO support, threaded SMS, a 2.5 mm headphone jack. Size wise, it measures 2.71 inch x 2.71 inch x 0.59 inc and has a weight of 3.44 ounces.

Nokia Twist will be available for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement via online at www.verizonwireless.com beginning Sept. 13 and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores on Sept. 21.

Android Market adds New Categories

Google has updated the Android Market with four new categories: Comics, Health, Sports, and Themes. These new changes will help address the annoyance of Entertainment and Lifestyle categories being crowded out by comics, aHome themes, FotMob skins/wallpapers, and the recent influx of sports-themed RingClips.

T-Mobile USA has launched Samsung T659 Scarlet. The handset features 3G, quad-band GSM radio, built-in GPS receiver, 2 megapixel camera + video recording, Bluetooth, email client, microSD memory card slot, and a battery that can power up to 12.5 days of stand-by time.
