Give blood via SMS with the Red Cross

The Red Cross will provide real-time alerts to critical blood inventories, tips for successful blood donations, and early notification of exciting new promotions. All donors who opt-in for the program will be able to make appointments via a click to call feature or locate a blood drive simply by entering a zip code.

Donors can subscribe to Red Cross texting simply by sending redcross to 42227 or by registering at bloodisneeded.org.

Nokia and Tanla sign an agreement for Mobile Payments, LicenseManagement, and Professional Services

Nokia has has signed a 5 year frame agreement with Tanla Solutions Ltd, covering License Management, Mobile Payments and related professional services.

Through a single integration with Tanla, application developers can monetize their services in 160 countries through operator and credit card billing" added Uday.

In App Purchase announced by Apple

Apple has announced in app purchases for iPhone applications. In app purchase gives iPhone developers the flexibility to support a variety of business models.

They can offer their customers additional services and content within their paid app.

The new Store Kit framework provides the functionality to process payments via the iTunes Store. You submit items to the store and set their price. When a customer chooses to purchase an item, your app creates a payment request and sends it to the iTunes Store for processing. After the iTunes Store verifies and approves the payment, your app is notified so that it can provide features or additional content.
