Broadcom Combo Chips compliant with new Bluetooth low energy WirelessTechnology

Following the previous report about the latest version of Bluetooth, Broadcom has announced that its latest generation Bluetooth combination chip is compliant with the ratified Bluetooth low energy version of the Bluetooth technology specification. The Bluetooth low energy specification enables an ultra-low power implementation of Bluetooth technology, making the technology increasingly applicable for wireless medical and fitness monitoring devices that necessitate very long battery life.

HTC has released a new firmware update for HTC Touch Diamond2 Handwriting. Now in addition to the full QWERTY keypad, simulating a full physical keyboard experience, HTC Diamond2 now offers handwriting recognition to give you more flexibility in your messaging to send messages to your contacts.

Nexus One (aka Google Phone) Unboxing Pictures spotted

Thanks to Twitter user Phillm, we have some unboxing pictures of Google’s Android phone and a short little video. Nexus One will apparently feature Android 2.1 OS, a 5 megapixel camera, a capacitive touchscreen, 1Ghz processor, GPS, and WiFi.

The Nexus One is expected to be released in early 2010 sold both unlocked from Google and in partnership with at least one major carrier (T-Mobile?). What's interesting is that the backside of the phone is adorned with a little Android robot holding a QR code flag. Images follow after the jump.

Yelp for Android updated

Yelp for Android has been updated with new features. You can now log-in to your account, upload photos right from mobile, and share business info via SMS, e-mail, and Facebook.

+ Upload photos: Take and upload photos with your handset to Yelp.com - which has already proved very popular with the iPhone.

The specifications of Motorola’s first iDEN Android handset, the 'Opus One' have been leaked. According to BGR, it has the following specifications:
