Smithsonian Channel has released its first app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Viewers can stay connected whenever and wherever with an app that features select full length episodes and hundreds of video clips of Smithsonian Channel's award-winning programming. Skype now available on Verizon BREW phones

Skype mobile is now available on Verizon phones on the BREW platform, including the LG enV TOUCH, LG Chocolate Touch and Samsung Reality. The app lets you make free calls (using a data plan) to friends and family on Skype, great value calls to landlines and mobile phones overseas, and send IMs to people on Skype anywhere in the world. To get Skype mobile on your LG enV TOUCH, LG Chocolate Touch or Samsung Reality, you can download it from Media Center/Get It Now or from the Verizon Media Store – or text SKYPE to 2255 for a link to the download.

LG Neon 2 available from Rogers

Rogers has released the LG Neon 2. The mobile phone comes with a 3-inch (240 x 400) WQVGA touchscreen display (the first LG Neon has only 2.4-inch display), a full QWERTY slider keyboard, 2MP camera with video, Bluetooth, MP3 player, FM radior, and a microSD card slot up to 8 GB.

FiOS TV app for iPad unveiled by Verizon

Verizon has unveiled an upcoming iPad app that will allow FiOS TV customers to watch live television on tablets such as Apple iPads. Verizon is currently negotiating licensing agreements with content providers such as Time Warner Inc to gain rights to extend programing agreements to tablet computers.
