BlackBerry Smartphone Simulators now available for Bold 9650 and Curve3G 9330

BlackBerry 6 device simulators now support the Bold 9650 and Curve 3G 9330. RIM has added OS 6.0.0.317 simulators for BlackBerry Bold 9650 and BlackBerry Curve 9330 on their website. This release could mean a launch of BlackBerry 6 for said smartphones is coming soon.

metaio has launched a new version 2.5 of its augmented reality browser – junaio. junaio 2.5 allows indoor navigation, image recognition, object tracking, attaching correctly scaled, interactive 3D displays onto objects. The new release also comes wrapped into a much improved graphical user interface, easier channel navigation and pinpoint geographic filtering.

PlayStation PSP Phone (Zeus Z1) spotted on videos

Following the previous reports about the Sony Ericsson’s PlayStation phone, two new videos of the PlayStation Phone, codenamed Zeus Z1 have recently been spotted on YouTube. The embedded videos show the slide-out gaming controller, the front and back of the PlayStation Phone, and apparently Android OS. Videos follow after the jump.

Sharp unveiled Galapagos Android tablets in Japan

Sharp Galapagos Android tablets have been unveiled in Japan. Coming in 5.5-inch and 10.8 inch versions, the tablets come with a modified version of Google Android OS. The 5.5" one, available in RED (EB-W51GJ-R) or SILVER (EB-W51GJ-S) and sold at 39,800 Yen (about $473) as well as the 10.8" (EB-WX1GJ-B) sold at 54,800 Yen, which is about $642. The 5.5-inch display will boast a resolution of 1024x600 and the 10.8-inch display will boast 1366x800 pixels res. Both comes with Wifi B/G, web browser, microSD port, and e-books.

BlackBerry Style 9670 lands on Telus

The second BlackBerry flip phone by RIM - the Blackberry Style 9670 lands on Telus with a price tag of $79.99 on a three-year contract. As you may already know, the Style 9670 comes with BlackBerry 6 OS, universal search, WebKit browser, 5MP camera with flash, HVGA display, external screen, 3G, Wi-Fi, and GPS.

Clearwire debuts Clear Modem with Wi-Fi

Clearwire has announced the availability of the Clear Modem with Wi-Fi. The new modem brings super fast CLEAR 4G service to the home or office, simplifying local area networking with an end-to-end wireless solution. The Clearwire 4G network offers average mobile download speeds of 3 to 6 mbps with bursts over 10 mbps. The Clear Modem with Wi-Fi is part of a growing ecosystem of nearly 70 devices on the market today that enable customers to connect to CLEAR 4G. The Clear Modem with Wi-Fi offers secure Wi-Fi connectivity to 802.11b/g/n capable devices and supports Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista 32/64, Windows 7 32/64 and Mac OS8 or higher.

Motorola Charm launched by Aircel in India

India's fifth largest GSM operator Aircel has added a new Motorola device to its Android phone portfolio - the Motorola Charm. The mobile phone comes with Android 2.1 OS, a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display, QWERTY keyboard, HPSA, WiFi, 3.2MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio, microSD expansion slot (2 GB card is included), and a 3.5 mm headset jack. The cell phone costs Rs. 13990 via Aircel, both on prepaid and postpaid plans.

Samsung unveils faster LPDDR2 DRAM memory for smartphones, tablets

Samsung has announced that it has developed and started sampling the industry’s first monolithic four gigabit (Gb), low power double-data-rate 2 (LPDDR2) DRAM using 30 nanometer (nm) class* technology in November. The chip will be used in high-end mobile applications such as smartphones and tablet PCs.
